1) How can anyone really provide a writing service for free? Is there some sort of catch?

Like anyone else, if I had to make a living with my writing, I would have to charge for it. But I am still a student at this time, so my emphasis is on learning. This will be a valuable experience for me and hopefully a valuable service for you. The only catch is that you need to give me a little more time than you would with a professional, because I will be learning from my writing mentor while developing each job.

2) Then if he's a professional writer, how can your writing mentor put in this time at no cost to me?

Steve McCardell has been a writing instructor, a book reviews editor, and now has been writing full-time as a freelancer since 2001. He has been hired to help tutor me in writing, but has also taken on a personal interest to see me excel in writing and to find my way on to Harvard. So we are tackling some unique projects like this in order to develop my skills beyond those of most students.

3) On to Harvard? So you're a high school student?

Yes. I'm attending Laurel Springs School, an accredited private school that has offered distance learning for more than 25 years.

4) Do you guarantee the quality of your writing?

Yes. There is a "Money Back Guarantee." (Just kidding.)

Here's what I can guarantee:

1) That Steve McCardell has been writing for businesses and consulting them in marketing issues since 2001.

2) That he has many return clients because of the quality of his work.

3) That, as a team, we will take your job as seriously as Steve takes any of his paid jobs.

We are both sticklers for quality. Plus, you can estimate the quality of our work by looking through the writing on this website. Other than that, there isn't much that could be guaranteed. I do, however, hope to post some testimonials on this site after I finish my first few jobs.

5) How many projects will you take on each month?

It will depend on the projects I choose. Some naturally take more time than others -- maybe they involve more writing or more research; maybe some take more brainstorming time. I wish to complete these projects at a steady pace and emphasize quality rather than speed. That said, I imagine that I'll complete one to two projects per month, since I am going to school on top of all this.
